Russia: Putin meets Russia's WorldSkills contestants in Sochi

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Russian WorldSkills team in Sochi on Tuesday.

The leader of the country said that the national system for training specialists will be improved during the preparations of the WorldSkills championship in Kazan, which will be held in 2019. Putin also noted that the Russian team has “all the premises” to perform “with dignity”.

WorldSkills is an international competition for youth that is held in a different member country every two years. The Russian Federation joined the international movement of WorldSkills in 2012 as part of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. This year the Russian team came fourteenth rising to 27 positions compared to 2013.
