USA: Houston police officer shot and killed at petrol station
A Texas police officer was shot and killed while filling up his vehicle at a petrol station in northwest Harris County, Houston on Friday.
Harris County police said that the officer, who was in uniform on duty at the time, was filling up his car at a petrol station off Telge and West when a man walked up to him and shot him repeatedly. The officer has not yet been named.
Police officers described the man as having a dark complexion, about 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm) tall and wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts. Police say that he fled the scene in a dark red Ford Ranger.
The shooting marks the first time a police officer was shot and killed in Texas this year and the first time since 2012 that an officer was killed in the Houston area.
