Around 60 soldiers and militamen serving in the Iraqi Army were killed in an attack on their convoy west of Ramadi, Friday, according to local media. Footage shows explosions during the course of the fighting and images of its aftermath.

The attack targeted a military convoy and is believed to have been carried out by members of the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL). Reportedly, they used mortars as well as two car bombs in the assault.

The attack comes one day after two Iraqi generals were killed in a suicide blast also carried out by IS.
