Russia: DM Shoigu gives Egypt'st el-Sisi tour of new defence control centre
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi visited a brand new National Defence Control Centre in Moscow on Thursday, accompanied by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The head of the Russian Defence Ministry gave the Egyptian leader a tour around the facilities, including the centre's 'war room,' where key planning decisions will be taken in times of crisis. In order to honour his guest, Shoigu presented el-Sisi with a miniature version of the well-known Maxim machine gun, which was heavily used in service both before and after the First World War.
El-Sisi arrived in Moscow on Tuesday, kicking off a three-day official visit to Russia, during which time he has already met with President Vladimir Putin and Jordanian King Abdullah II.
