
USA: Protesters besiege John Kerry's house, calling him out
Around 50 students from Wisconsin and their supporters marched, Tuesday to the house of Secretary of State John Kerry in DC to urge him to call for a stop to work on the Alberta Pipeline.
Around 20 activists chained themselves outside Kerry's house. Secret service operatives, police and emergency response crews soon arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area.
For four hours protesters held a sit-in protest after which police carried out arrests.
Activists of the Midwest Unrest group arrived from Wisconsin to draw attention to the tar sands project, demanding an immediate stop of the Alberta Clipper pipeline.
