
Russia: Governor of Chelyabinsk Region briefs Putin on booming steel industry
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting in the Kremlin, Moscow, Monday, with the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovski, to discuss the socioeconomic situation in the region.
Dubrovski reported that the situation in the region is "stable" and that the industrial production has grown by 1.5 percent in the past six months. This includes a 3.5 percent growth in metallurgy, according to Kremlin.
Dubrovski also stated that "tax revenues have increased by 13 percent compared to the last year" up to eight billion roubles ($112 million).
