Spain: MPs back third Greek bailout in Madrid
Spanish MPs voted to approve a third Greek bailout in parliament in Madrid, Tuesday. The bailout, which is worth worth 86-billion euros ($95 billion) was approved by 297 yes votes to 20 no votes.
Alberto Garzon, leader of United Left, one of the parties that has voted 'No' to the bailout, has said that "this third bailout will fail as the first and the second bailouts did", while the Popular Party deputy Martinez-Pujalte has recognised that the bailout "doesn't guarantee anything." Although Spain is not required to have its parliament approve the package, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy decided to go ahead with the vote.
