Russia: EMERCOM choppers battle wildfires in Siberia

Over 42,000 firefighters and 24 aircraft were in action in Siberia, Saturday, to battle wildfires that are raging over a territory of 150,000 hectares. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reports that the Irkutsk Region and Buryatia are the worst-affected areas.

The head of EMERCOM Vladimir Puchkov has promised to extinguish all fires in Siberia within the next two and a half days.
