      The Philippines: Blaze engulfs ferry with 544 on board

      A ferry carrying 544 passengers caught fire after docking in the port city of Ormoc on Leyte Island, Saturday, causing those on board to jump into the sea and climb across the boat’s roof to escape the blaze. Despite this, there were only reports of minor injuries; including cuts and bruises suffered by the vessel's crew.

      Local authorities are currently uncertain about what caused the fire aboard the MV Wonderful Stars ferry.
