Russia: From Russian learners to Night Wolves fans, meet the next ISS crew
The cosmonauts and astronauts of the crew that's due to travel next to the International Space Station (ISS) held a press conference in Moscow, Monday, shortly after the official announcement of their departure by the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre.
The team is led by Captain Sergei Volkov, a veteran cosmonaut with several missions under his belt. He said he will be carrying a flag of the Russian bikers club Night Wolves in his cabin. Alongside him will be Kazakh cosmonaut Aidyn Aimbetov and Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen, who had to learn Russian in order to be prepared for the mission.
The launch is due to take place on September 2, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
