
Turkey: Police secure scene of US consulate shoot out
Two shooters opened fire outside the US consulate in Istanbul, Monday, before fleeing after security staff shot back. One of the assailants reportedly fled the scene while another barricaded herself in a house which the police then surrounded. She was wounded in the ensuing gun battle before being taken to an ambulance.
Police were seen securing the area around the house and establishing a crime scene at the site of the shoot-out.
In a separate incident, an Istanbul police station was targeted in a bomb blast, injuring at least 10 people, seven of whom are police officers.
