
Turkey: Death toll hits 11 as Syrian migrants die in minibus accident *GRAPHIC*
Some 11 people were killed and a further 29 injured in the western Turkish province of Balikesir, Saturday, after an over-crowded minibus carrying predominantly Syrian migrants veered off a highway, hitting a retaining wall on the roadside.
Rescue teams were quick on the scene, pulling the victims from the destroyed minivan, which had been travelling down the Balikesir-Havran highway in the Havran district. One of the 11 killed was Turkish, the remaining ten Syrian. Those injured are currently being treated in a local hospital.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
