UK: Farage talks Calais migrant crisis at No campaign speech
Nigel Farage, the leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), stood up for saying No to Britain staying in the European Union (EU) in the proposed referendum on UK membership, during a speech in London, Thursday.
The Eurosceptic politician claimed that UKIP will "take the lead" in the campaign supporting the exit of UK from the EU, ahead an upcoming referendum on whether the UK should remain as a member or not, that is planned to take place before the end of 2017. "We don't want to be like Greece", he added, "where the referendum results are, frankly, just completely ignored."
Speaking about the migrant crisis in Calais, Farage has blamed the French authorities for not doing enough to cut the constant flow of asylum seekers trying to enter in UK. "Give them French passports and they could come without climbing over a fence or hanging in the back of a truck", he stated.
