
Panama: Navy seizes 1.9 tonnes of drugs off Panama's coast
The Panamanian navy seized over 1.9 tonnes of drugs including cocaine and marijuana between July 24 and July 25, according to Sub-commissioner of the Panamanian Navy Nonato Lopez who spoke to press at the Cocoli navy base in Panama City on Monday.
Lopez told the press that the drugs were seized in three locations including one in the Carribean Sea. The seaman also stated that “four people have been detained” in an anti-smuggling ongoing operation.
Panamanian authorities have already destroyed a reported 28.3 tonnes of drugs this year.
