
Russia: Blatter tells Putin FIFA supports 2018 Russian World Cup
President of FIFA Sepp Blatter confirmed that his organisation supports Russia for the 2018 World Cup whilst speaking to Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, Saturday.
Blatter announced that FIFA's executive committee had adopted a new resolution to express the support and stressed that he and his team "fully trust in the work" presented by the Russian officials organising the event. "We say yes to Russia", he concluded.
Russian President Vladimir Putin added he was "very glad" to get the chance to tell FIFA how Russia is preparing for the World Cup and what Russian organisations are doing "to provide a high level of this large-scale international sports events."
