
Libya: 111 migrants picked up by Italian coastguard

The Italian coastguard picked up a total of 111 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea during a rescue operation conducted by Rome's Coastguard Operations Centre, Friday.
According to Italian authorities, requests for assistance were received via satellite phone, before the migrants were found by the coastguard's class-300 patrol boat.
