
Russia: Sports Ministry rewards Under-19 football team for silver at Euros
Russian Sports Minister Vitali Mutko met with the head coach and the Russian under-19 national football team that won the silver medal at the European Championship, in Moscow, Wednesday. Mutko congratulated both the head coach Dmitri Khomukha and the players, calling their performance in the championship "brilliant."
The minister was asked about the ongoing investigation into FIFA by US authorities, responding that he couldn't say too much as the investigation "is ongoing."
Mutko, along with First Vice-President of the Russian Football Union Nikita Simonyan, presented the players and staff with certificates and ceremonial watches, before heading outside to a local football pitch to pose for a group photograph.
