Russia: New gypsum plant to open in Orenburg, Governor Berg tells Putin
A new gypsum production plant, the 'VOLMA-Orenburg', is set to open in Orenburg in the near future, said the region's Governor Yuri Berg at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Tuesday. Berg stated that the new site, which is owned by the VOLMA corporation, will "produce building materials based on local deposits of gypsum in addition to the drilling equipment plant."
Berg explained that the new plant will enable the region to mine and produce gypsum, which used to be supplied by Canada before the West imposed sanctions on Russia, independently from now on.
During the meeting, the governor of Orenburg also invited Putin to the opening of an oil extraction plant in September.
