Ukraine: Firefighters burn their uniforms in labour rights protest
Around 200 fiefighters gathered near the Ukrainian Parliament (Rada) in central Kiev, Thursday, to protest for stronger labour rights. Several firemen burned their uniform as part of the protest which they held on their day off.
The demonstrating firefighters say they don't have the right to strike, or to create their own labour unions. They also oppose the fact that they are not allowed to hold down a second job.
The average salary of a Ukrainian firefighter is about 2,000 hryvnia (€82; $91) per month.
