Greece: Golden Dawn MP rips up Syriza memorandum in Hellenic Parliament
Golden Dawn MP Ilias Kasidiaris tore up the Brussels memorandum document given to MPs in Athens, Wednesday, slamming the government for opposing the will of the people and warning Syriza they face becoming part of the "trash bin" of Greek history.
Claiming Greece's resources as "national property," Kasidiaris went on to accuse Syriza of selling off €50 billion worth of hydrocarbons to Germany.
Members of the Hellenic Parliament are set to debate and vote on the latest agreement proposed by eurozone leaders late on Wednesday. Providing the Hellenic Parliament backs the deal, the fresh bailout package of €86 billion ($95 billion) promises automatic spending cuts, including 'pension reform' and other austerity measures. Moreover,, it requires the Syriza government to align its legislative agenda with institutions, removing legislation that breaks with the strict spending plans.
