Greece: New app allows Greeks to find working ATMs
Three Greek developers have created an app called 'Find ATM' which allows users to get information on ATMs, footage filmed in Athens on Sunday shows.
The app tracks whether or not the ATMs have queues and whether the ATMs give 20 or 50 Euro notes. As one of the creators Chris Kritikos explains, the latter is important since the current withdrawal limit of 60 Euros a day cannot be accessed if banks only dispense 50 Euro notes.
The app receives no information from banks but relies solely on the experience of users, who update the status of the ATMs as they visit them and then share the information with other users. The app, which is non-profit, has already been downloaded 7,000 times.
