Greece: DM Kammenos touts an agreement on Greek reform proposals
Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos, leader of the Independent Greeks (ANEL) party - Syriza's right-wing coalition partner, said there would be an agreement on the reform proposals that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will present to the Eurogroup by Friday’s deadline, while speaking outside Maximos Mansion in Athens, Thursday.
When asked if there would be an agreement, Kammenos stated that “There will be everything, we will get everything.” He went on to say that some parties "sabotaged the deal to wage a war against Greece", stating that the New Democracy party initially signed a deal only to later attack "not just Prime Minister Tsipras but Greece itself."
Tsipras has been conducting various meetings with key ministers from his own party since the 'No' vote in the Greek austerity referendum, as well as ministers and heads of rival political parties, in an attempt to collect a national consensus on the content of Greece's economic reforms.
Tsipras is expected to propose reforms to the country's creditors on Thursday, ahead of the imposed Friday deadline.
