Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his eagerness to establish a headquarters for the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) while speaking on the final day of the seventh BRICS summit in Ufa, Thursday.
The Chinese leader also commented that BRICS countries should strengthen cooperation in the area of information security and internet governance, calling for "equal participation in internet governance."
Xi Jinping has held talks with the heads of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa as they continue to discuss further cooperation between the countries of the bloc and their allies, particularly within the context of the newly-formed New Development Bank (NDB).
The BRICS summit comes at the same time as the 15th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO from July 9 to 10, also taking place in Ufa. In total, 10,000 visitors are expected at the two events.
