
Russia: BRICS to expand cooperation in mining, health care - Deputy FM Ryabkov
The BRICS has a clear agenda and is ready to take the next step in its development, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in Ufa, Thursday, explaining that this will see the organisation enhance cooperation in key areas.
Speaking at the BRICS summit, Ryabkov added that cooperation was to be bolstered in the fields of health care and mining. The countering of infectious diseases and enhancing the association's coordination on foreign policy issues are also among the top priorities on the agenda of the BRICS, he added.
The BRICS summit is hosted alongside the 15th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on July 9 and 10, which also takes place in Ufa. In total, 10,000 visitors are expected at the two events.
