Yemen: Saudi-led airstrikes hit ex-president's HQ
Saudi Arabian-led coalition aircraft carried out several airstrikes in Sanaa on Wednesday, reportedly hitting a camp of the Republican Guard loyal to former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Local residents reported that seven airstrikes targeted weapons storages at the Jabal-Naqam (Mount al-Naqam) base in Sanaa's south and camp al-Hafa in the east of the capital.
The raids come at a time when UN Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Walid Sheikh Ahmed has been urging parties to observe a humanitarian truce.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), over 3,000 people in the country have been killed by airstrikes and ground fighting in the last three months alone while over a million people have fled their homes.
