Yemen: Car bomb rips through Sanaa
A deadly car bomb placed outside a hospital exploded in Sanaa, Tuesday, reportedly injuring 10 people. Islamic State in Yemen posted a statement online claiming responsibility for the attack, in a continuation of their campaign against the Houthi forces that control the capital.
There has been a steep increase in attacks and civilian casualties over the past two weeks in Yemen following renewed air strikes by Saudi-led coalition forces and supporters of ousted Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, aimed at weakening Houthi positions throughout the country. The total death toll has increased to nearly 3,100 since foreign incursions started in March according to the UN.
