
Russia: Jacob Zuma arrives in Ufa ahead of 7th BRICS summit
South African President Jacob Zuma arrived in the city of Ufa in the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan, Tuesday, a day ahead of the seventh BRICS summit which begins on July 8.
The leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are expected to discuss further cooperation between the countries of the bloc, particularly within the context of the newly-formed New Development Bank (NDB).
The summit comes as the Trade Ministers of the BRICS countries are meeting in Moscow just ahead of the 15th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on July 9 and 10, also taking place in Ufa.
