
Russia: Rogozin touts Russo-Chinese trade ties as VP Wang Yang visits
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin held bilateral talks with Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Yang in the far eastern Russian city of Irkutsk, Monday.
Both Rogozin and Yang are co-chairs of the Russian-Chinese Committee and met to discuss further cooperation between the two countries. Wang Yang noted that developing ties with Russia would "foster the development of the national economy and duly contribute to the development of the world economy."
Rogozin in turn spoke about "increasing cooperation in high-tech industries like military-technical cooperation, peaceful nuclear development, civil aeronautics and space."
The Chinese diplomat is set to attend the opening of the International Exhibition and Forum of Industry and Innovation in Yekaterinburg on July 8, one of Russia's most important industrial trade fairs.
