Angela Merkel's personal relationship with Alexis Tsipras has not suffered from the Greek debt crisis, the German Chancellor said during a press conference with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in Berlin, Wednesday.

Merkel added that "it's a right of a sovereign state to take its own decisions", however warned that the remaining 18 eurozone states have developed their own position towards those decisions.

Italy's Matteo Renzi also commented on the Greek debt crisis saying that "personally, I would have avoided a referendum," before adding "as soon as we will stop talking about the Greek economy, we will be finally able to talk about the European economy again."
