USA: Republican Chris Christie enters 2016 US presidential race
Chris Christie officially launched his presidential campaign in New Jersey, Tuesday, announcing his bid to a cheering crowd of supporters at his former high school. Hundreds gathered at Livingston High School as the 52 year-old Republican and current Govenor of New Jersey presented himself as the cure for America's "hand-wringing indecisiveness and weakness in the oval office".
Christie, whose campaign slogan is simply, "Tell It Like It Is", went on to declare, ""There is only one indispensable force for good in the world. And it is a strong, unequivocal America that will lead the world."
The 14th Republican candidate to enter the 2016 presidential race, Christie will now go on to campaign in New Hampshire for the rest of the week.
