German President Joachim Gauck welcomed Britain's Queen Elizabeth II to the Bellevue Palace in Berlin, Wednesday, with full military honours.

Joined by her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen was greeted by Gauck and his partner Daniela Schadt at the presidential palace. The British monarch signed the Bellevue guest book before receiving full military honours in the palace grounds, accompanied by a military band.

The trip, spanning from June 23 to June 26, is the Queen's fifth state visit to Germany, previously visiting the country in 1965, 1978, 1992 and 2004.
