UK: Londoners rally in solidarity with Greece, demanding debt cancellation
Several dozen protesters gathered in Trafalgar Square in London on Tuesday, in solidarity with Greece, a day ahead of the Eurogroup meeting on the Greek debt crisis.
The protesters were carrying signs with messages stating: "it's not the economy, stupid...It's political" and "austerity breeds fascism." Many also participated in a mass group spelling, in huge lettering, reading" 'Drop Greece's Debts.'
The Eurogroup on Tuesday provisionally accepted a proposal made by Greece, which will be a basis for the negotiations. The leaders are currently reviewing the proposal before the Eurogroup will meet again on Wednesday. If they ratify the reforms, they shall then be submitted the results to the European Council on Thursday.
