Doctors removed a one-inch (2.54 cm) worm from the eye of a 17-year-old boy at the National Children's Hospital in Lima, Wednesday.
An MRI scan reveled that the worm had been living under the boy's eyelid for a month.
Doctors used basil to lure the worm out of the boy's eye before using tweezers to remove the critter entirely.
