Ukraine: Donetsk shelling casualties condemn Kiev's actions from hospital beds
Civilians injured by recent shelling spoke out from their hospital beds in Donetsk, Thursday, to condemn about the artillery attacks at the hands of Kiev forces, with one local resident, Aleksandra, called Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko "scum." She added her belief that he is not letting "the people of Donetsk just live their lives."
Another woman suffering from an injured leg, Tatiana, described how the shelling intensified, while recalling Wednesday's events. "Everything burned. The Tekstilshik district burned, the Skochinsky [coal] mine burned. Then a shell landed in my yard."
According to the Deputy Defence Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin, 21 people were killed with more than 120 wounded during hostilities in the last 24 hours. Donetsk hospitals were inundated with injured and dying over the last two days due to the latest wave of violence in the region.
