Yemen: Sanaa's YFA relief centre devastated by Saudi-led airstrikes
A Yemeni Football Association (YFA) building being used as a makeshift relief centre was among many of Sanaa's buildings to be left in ruins, Sunday, following a night of airstrikes carried out by Saudi-led coalition forces targeting Houthi militia members in the Yemeni capital.
Mattresses and items of clothing were strewn throughout the city's streets after several apartment blocks, including the YFA site that was housing displaced Yemeni residents, sustained heavy damages during airstrikes in the Shoveler neighbourhood of Sanaa.
Almost 2,000 people have been killed and more than half a million displaced since airstrikes began in Yemen on March 26, according to the UN figures. The Saudi-led coalition includes eight other Arab states and is receiving logistical support from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom and France.
