USA: "NSA big time?" Arizona town hides cameras in fake cacti
Paradise Valley residents spoke out against the camouflaged cameras in fake saguaros cacti popping up around the Arizona town, Wednesday. Some residents characterised the town's actions as an invasion of privacy and expressed concern on the sort and amount of data that is being collecting.
According to Paradise Valley town manager Kevin Burke, the cameras were installed to serve as license plate readers and were not meant to be secretive, but rather aesthetically peaceful.
The cameras, which Burke claims are currently inactive, were made possible thanks to a donation by a wealthy resident.
