Almost 400 American soldiers with 80 US Army vehicles participated in the "Cavalry March" across Romania on Wednesday to kick off multinational drills.

The military operation, covered by the US Air Force, started from the Mihail Kogalniceanu military base and ended 290 km away (190 miles) in the afternoon in Ploiesti, located north of Bucharest. On the road, drivers and public had the opportunity to see and admire the armoured vehicles.

On Thursday the convoy will continue its march until reaching the Romanian Land Forces Combat Training Center in Cincu, where US soldiers will meet their Canadian, British and Romanian counterparts. The international military exercise will take place between May 15 and June 6.
