      Germany: Poroshenko promises demilitarization of conflict zones

      The political and economic reforms in the Minsk agreement of February 12 can only be implemented once a complete ceasefire is in place, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in Berlin, Wednesday.

      Speaking at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Poroshenko added that demilitarising the area around Shirokino and other current combat zones such as Donetsk airport is vital to avoiding an escalation of the conflict.
