Ukraine: Woman barred from celebrating victorious Red Army in Lviv

Hundreds of Lviv residents and veterans gathered at the Field of Mars situated in the Lychakiv Cemetery, Saturday, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Soviet Victory over the Nazis in WWII.

People of different ages, mainly Russian-speaking, came in the war memorial to honour the memory of the fallen heroes and laid flowers at the soldiers' graves. A priest held a memorial mass before people marched to the Hill of Fame in the cemetery.

There was a little argument after representatives of different political organisations did not let a woman with a St. George ribbon participate in the ceremony. According to police reports, the memorial event to celebrate V-Day went quietly and without provocation.
