Spain: F1 superstar Sebastian Vettel lays foundation stone at Ferrari Land theme park
Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel was the guest of honour as Ferrari celebrated laying the first stone of their new theme park 'Ferrari Land' at the PortAventura resort in Salou, Thursday, marking the start of construction on the estimated €100 million project ($112,729,000).
The ceremony was attended by many local celebrities including Artur Mas, president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Maurizio Arrivabene, the current team principal of the Ferrari Formula One team, as well as Sebastian Vettel, who drives for Ferrari in the F1.
Ferrari Land, scheduled to open in 2016, will reportedly have one of the highest vertical rollercoasters in Europe, standing at 112 metres high (367.5 ft), reaching speeds of up to 180km/h (111.8 m/h) in just five seconds.
