Russia: Some EU states are helping Kiev "sabotage" Ukraine peace process - Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused "some people" inside the EU of helping Kiev sabotage the Minsk agreements, as he was speaking at a joint press conference with Austria's Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz in Moscow, Tuesday.
Lavrov expanded upon his statements by referring to the resumed shelling in east Ukraine. He slammed the European Union for assuming that the Minsk agreements need to be implemented exclusively by Russia. Russia's top diplomat stressed that most of civil deaths and destruction are happening east of the line of engagement, yet this is not acknowledged by European authorities, at least on the level of policy.
The press conference followed a meeting between the delegations of Russia and Austria in Moscow, where the Ukraine conflict, EU-Russia relations as well as bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, among other topics.
