China: This luxury Hongqi car has the presidential touch

Chinese luxury car manufacturer Hongqi, which in Chinese means 'Red Flag,' unveiled their new SUV the LS5 at the 16th International Automobile and Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2015) hosted at the China Expo Complex in Shanghai, Tuesday.

Hingqi are China's most prestigious and oldest brand. They initially built cars for Chinese Communist Party officials. The new flagship product with 'Presidential feeling' is powered by a new twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 381hp and 530Nm of peak torque, paired to an eight-speed automatic driving all four wheels. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-100km/h (62mph) in 8.1 seconds and has a top track speed of 220km/h (137mph).

Auto Shanghai is one of the worlds leading trade fairs for automobiles. Taking place every two years since 1985, the show features thousands of exhibitions from national and international manufacturers. It will run until April 29.
