Belgium: Thousands take part in anti-TTIP demonstration
Several thousand joined a rally against the Transatlantic Trade And Investment Partnership (TTIP) that took place in Brussels, Saturday. Parties and organisations like Podemos, Die Linke, Syriza and Greenpeace joined the protest, as well as several unions.
The protesters were holding banners with messages like 'for democracy, the public and social services' and 'smash capitalism, invent new work.'
The protest came two days before the TTIP negotiations between Europe and the US will resume in New York. The adversaries say that the TTIP agreement would harm social, consumer and environmental protection.
