Monaco: ATS are back with the rebirth of classic GT 2500
Italian car manufacturer Automobile Turismo Sport (ATS) showed off its Coupe GT 2500 at the Top Marques supercar exhibition in Monaco, Thursday. The company was founded in 1962 by engineer Carlo Chiti and Giotto Bizzarrini but ceased activity in 1965.
The ATS Coupe GT 2500 is a rebirth of the classic ATS GT 2500 which ceased manufacture 50 years ago. With a light weight carbon fibre body weighing only 70 kg (154 lbs), the total weight is under 1000 kg (2200 lbs). According to ATS's Sales Manager Gianfranco Pipitone the car will be powered by "eight cylinders coming directly from formula one engine," giving it 660hp.
ATS is releasing the Coupe sport GT 2500 and a new ATS 300 Leggera, a two seater spider with retro-style as well as the new Stile50 with a front engine.
VIP visitors at the twelfth edition of the Top Marques Monaco exhibition will get the chance to test an array of the world's newest, fastest, and most innovative supercars. The motor show runs from April 16 to April 19.
