Russia: 'Western countries must take responsibility for Libyan chaos' - Libyan PM tells Lavrov
Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thani said"Western countries must take responsibility for the chaos that is happening in Libya" during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow, Wednesday.
Al-Thani said the country has to show a level of appreciation towards Russia for the support it has shown to the Libyan Armed Forces. Up to 90 percent of their weapons are Russian, according to al-Thani.
He also said that the current situation in Libya has left the people "without effective state institutions," and that to overcome this an "emphasis on the Army and law enforcement agencies" must be instilled and overserved.
Lavrov said Russia is actively cooperating "with all international efforts to stabilise the situation."
