Brazil: Thousands flood Rio in anti-Rousseff protest
Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Sunday, demanding the resignation of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.
The protest was sparked by a corruption scandal in the state oil company Petrobras, in which construction and engineering companies allegedly bribed the company with at least $800 million USD (745 million euro). Many protesters claim that Rousseff must have known about the scandal, calling for the privatization of the company.
On March 15, 200,000 people demonstrated against Rousseff in Sao Paulo. It was the biggest protest the country has seen since the end of the military dictatorship in 1984.
