
Germany: PM Modi unveils bust of Gandhi in Hannover
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the bust of Mahatma Gandhi during his visit to Hannover City Hall on Sunday.
Modi was welcomed by a cheering crowd waving German and Indian flags, he arrived in Hannover earlier Sunday, after concluding his visit to France.
During his three-day visit Modi plans to encourage German companies to invest in India and participate in the 'Make in India' initiative. He is also scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss bilateral relations and international issues of "mutual interest," according to a government press statement. Their discussions will wind up with a joint news conference in Berlin, Tuesday.
