Russia: Greece was forced to vote for sanctions on Russia says Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras held a joint press conference in Moscow on Wednesday, after both leaders signed a cooperation agreement for 2015-2016.
During the press conference, Putin acknowledged Greece was forced to vote for sanctions on Russia as it forms part of the European Union (EU). The Russian leader also expressed sympathy that counter-sanctions have “hurt” the Greek economy but maintained no “exceptions” can be made for countries within the EU and the measures must stand.
Putin also called for an end to sanctions from both sides and expressed hope that both Russia and Greece can develop stronger ties in the agricultural industry.
