
Greece: Fierce clashes break out between cops and protesters in Athens

Clashes erupted between protesters and police in the Exarchia district of Athens, Tuesday, following a demonstration against high security prisons.
Around 50 protesters burnt cars and threw petrol bombs and stones at police who retaliated with tear gas.
The demonstrators were calling an end to a maximum security prison which the Syriza party had pledged to close soon.
