USA: Talks with Lagarde "extremely productive" - Varoufakis
Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said that talks with IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde were "extremely productive" as he left the IMF Headquarters in Washington D.C, Sunday. He said that they discussed "ways of improving the efficiency of the negotiations" and how they can improve "lines of communications".
Greece is due to pay back a 450-million euro ($493.8 million) loan to IMF by April 9. With Brussels requesting a devised reform plan, the country has not yet received the remaining funds from its 240-billion-euro ($264 billion) EU-IMF rescue package.
It is expected that Varoufakis will also meet with members of the US Treasury on Monday to discuss the reforms.
